The New Forest

The New Forest is Britain's newest national park in Hampshire, in the south of England, UK. It is over 900 years old, having been created in 1079 by William I (William the Conqueror) as an area in which to hunt deer.
The Forest is some 93,000 acres (145 square miles) in area and is the largest unenclosed area in Southern England. The New Forest consists of a mixture of native deciduous and coniferous woodland, heaths, bogs, streams and estuaries. Ponies, cattle and pigs are allowed to roam freely, but are privately owned.
Cycling, riding and walking are all excellent ways to explore the beautiful countryside that the New Forest has to offer.

Lyndhurst – The capital of the New Forest

A short walk away(200 yards), in the village of Lyndhurst, you will find the New Forest Museum, Visitor Information Centre and an excellent variety of shops, cafes,  restaurants and pubs.  Other facilities include an 18 hole golf course, bicycle hire and you can also catch the open top tour bus.   There are regular bus links to Southampton, Bournemouth, Salisbury and many more places.  We are in an ideal location from which to explore and discover the beauty of the forest and surrounding area, and to visit many places of interest, such as:
